There is a place in southern Peru where a mountain attracts the gaze, not so much for its imposing nature, but rather for its showy appearance. We are talking about Vinicunca, or Rainbow Mountain, which has become one of the major tourist attractions in the land of the Incas.
The colorfulness of Vinicunca is due to a geological formation accumulated over time by the mixture of marine, lacustrine and fluvial elements. This gathering of minerals dragged by the waters of the mountain range, the winds and the humidity, has caused the oxidation of the site and has made the mountain acquire that magical diversity of hues.
Geologists and experts in the field claim that this phenomenon has only recently been discovered due to the melting of the glaciers that once covered the mountain and received constant snowfall until the early 1990s.
Programa
1 - Full Day Raibow Mountain
- 4:45 AM - Pick up from your hotel: We will pick you up at the indicated time from your hotel to take you in a tourist transport to the Restaurant.
- 7:00 AM Arrival at Cusipata: At this place we will have breakfast and then continue the trip.
- 8:30 AM Continue the trip to the start of the hike in the town of Fulawasi: After breakfast, we will continue by car to the point where we will start the hike.
- 9:30 AM Bus station and start of the hike from the town of Fulawasi: From this point, and after coordination with the guide, the hike towards the mountain will begin.
- 11:35 AM Arrival at the Mountain of 7 Colors: At this approximate time we will be on the mountain of 7 colors.
- 12:05 PM Return to the bus station to return to the town of Cusipata: After taking the classic photos, continue the journey, but this time on the way back.
- 1:15 PM Board the bus and return to Cusipata to have lunch: Once we arrive at the bus station, we will board the bus to go to our restaurant to have lunch.
- 3:30 PM Return to Cusco: After lunch, we will continue our journey to the city of Cusco.
- 5:00 PM Arrival in Cusco: At that time we will be arriving in Cusco, we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas.
